Almost Live Animal Friday – Penguin
Digital.
A black (and white) animal for Black Friday. This was one of several photogenic penguins I saw at a zoo a few years ago.
I Love Penguins
Done with a drawing app on my Android, so I guess this blog has finally entered the digital age.
Shopping Penguin
Originally colored pencil on bristol board, though I did a good deal of modification in Paintbrush and Preview.
Done this past Black Friday, though there were parts of the original I wanted to fix–and erasing and whiting out would not have done the trick–and it seemed like every attempt at tweaking it in Paintbrush just made things worse. As my current computer is already pretty old, and had OS X reinstalled a couple of years ago, I didn’t feel like downloading Seashore was such a great idea.
Penguin In Cowboy Hat
Colored pencil on bristol board.
Bonus post this week–I thought the penguin chick in an oversized cowboy hat, first seen in 49ers vs. Texans, had potential as a standalone design, possibly for a “so you’re feeling overwhelmed?” card.
49ers vs. Texans
Marker and colored pencil on bristol board.
As was the case with last week’s illustration, this Sunday Night Football matchup was a hard one to come up with a picture for (not to mention a bit of a rush in order to get it ready to post today–damn real life obligations).
Penguin Chick
Black, silver, deco yellow, and Spanish orange colored pencil on white copy paper.
Happy Easter!
Burning Down The Page
Black, metallic silver, orange, yellowed orange, and burnt ochre colored pencil on white copy paper.
Again, taking advantage of the edges of the paper.
