Since I started following the NHL, Modano has been practically synonymous with the Stars franchise in my mind. I remember one offseason where it was rumored that he was going to play for the Detroit Red Wings, and although he hails from the Detroit area and I’m a Red Wings fan, it would have been strange to see him in a different uniform.
